December Celebrations

Sweets and treats are heavily associated with the December holidays, which makes it appropriate that National Bake Cookies Day is on December 18th! Bake your favorite cookies or look for a unique recipe to try this holiday, and enjoy the decadent day! Because it’s the holidays, you can use this as an opportunity to bake some cookies for neighbors, friends, and family.

Although the December holidays can be full of joy and cheer, it may be sad or lonely for many people. December 21st is Look on the Bright Side Day, and it’s an opportunity to attempt to be more optimistic. We suggest taking some time to catalog the good things that have happened in your life up until that point, so you can see, on paper, the positive things that have occurred in your life.

Holiday Movie Suggestions

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Any fan of the Peanuts gang will turn to this winter classic year after year to bask in the nostalgia of the film and the innocence and lovable quirkiness of its characters. Whether you get seasonal affective disorder like Charlie Brown or you love dancing to holiday music, this quick movie will surely resonate with and woman snuggling up on couch watching a laptop

The Santa Clause

“Divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) has custody of his son (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa's place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he's dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn't a dream after all -- and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do.”
